We all set off on a fitness journey with good intentions. Of course, we do! But that doesn’t mean that it’s easy to stay motivated when it comes to working out.
We’ve all been there, dreading the gym, avoiding going for a run and blaming missing exercise on any little thing. ‘Oh, it’s raining?’ I cannot possibly go out…
But how can you get your mojo back? Well, we’ve got some great tips to help you stay motivated!
Workout with a friend and hold one another accountable
The chances are, if you’ve felt your motivation to workout take a nosedive, a friend or relative has, too. Try to buddy up with someone, so you can hold each other accountable and stay motivated.
Whether a friend, partner or even a colleague, having someone to exercise with can also make the whole experience a lot more fun as well! Not sure about working out with someone you know? If you can, invest in a couple of weekly sessions with a personal trainer, they’ll keep you on track with hitting your goals and keep you motivated!
Make note of your goals
If you don’t know what your goals are, how will you know what you’re aiming for? Keep tabs on your workout goals regularly in order to track your progress.
Keep them somewhere visible, such as your fridge or bathroom mirror so they’re always on your mind. You’ve got this!
Always make time to exercise and plan your workouts

There’s nothing worse than stepping into the gym with no idea what you’re going to do that day. Try to keep yourself motivated to workout by planning ahead. Make time to exercise by fitting it into your schedule, not squeezing 10 minutes onto the end of your day.

Music can be an incredibly powerful tool for keeping us both motivated and focused. If you’re struggling to maintain your motivation to workout, get searching for a bangin’ playlist of music that you can’t help but want to get up and active to!

Choose your workout according to your mood
I don’t know about you, but sometimes I’m just really not in the mood for a run. But I could easily go 10 rounds with a punching bag! Don’t be too strict with yourself when it comes to keeping to a workout plan.
If you’re really not feeling a run that day, try yoga or a HIIT workout instead.
Get in the zone before you leave the house
There’s no point dragging your butt to the gym when you’re feeling demotivated to workout. Instead, try get yourself pumped and in the zone at home!
Listen to your favorite music, watch a music video that always gets you pumped and get yourself in the zone before you head out to exercise.
Book a paid class in advance

Make exercise your ‘me time’
We all need a little self-care, now more than ever. Instead of pushing your workouts to the bottom of your to-do list, consider exercise as your ‘me time’. After all, you’re booking out the time to work on you, so why not commit!
